CHERYL A. BUCK

Rolfe — Cheryl Buck, age 79, passed away on February 19, 2007, at Fort Dodge. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2007, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Rolfe, with the Rev. Keith Sievers officiating. Burial was in Clinton-Garfield Cemetery in Rolfe.

Cheryl Ann Onnen was born on June 30, 1927, near Rolfe. She was the daughter of George and Flora (Wiley) Onnen. Cheryl was educated in Rolfe schools, graduated from Rolfe High School, and attended Iowa Lakes Community College. She worked at various jobs in the Rolfe area before she began working for the Department of Human Services in Pocahontas. She worked at D.H.S. for over twenty years, retiring in the m id-1990s. Cheryl was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. She enjoyed doing puzzles and fishing when she was able.

Survivors include her son, Steve Buck of Rolfe; granddaughter, Machalah Buck of Fairbank; grandson, Eran (Sachi) Buck, currently stationed in Japan; great-grandson, Ian Buck; daughter-In-law, Linda Buck, and grandson, Michael Lakers, both of Des Moines.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Randy and Donald; sister, Gladys Stafford; and brother Melvin Onnen.
