TOM "HAWK" HALLIGAN

Rolfe — Tom "Hawk" Halligan, age 59, died on December 7, 2006, at his home near Rolfe. Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Rolfe on Monday, December 11, 2006, at 10:30 a.m., with the Pastor Keith Sievers officiating. Burial was in the Clinton-Garfield Cemetery in Rolfe.

Anthony Thomas Halligan, IV, was born on January 20, 1947, at Chicago, Ill., to Anthony T. and Nellie (Welter) Halligan. At the age of five, Tom's family moved to Pocahontas. He graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1965. After he graduated, he worked in the Pocahontas area. In the late 1960's, Tom started selling life insurance. In the late 1970's, he started selling for Hawkeye National Life Co., selling for them for over 20 years. Failing health for the past several years forced Tom to retire.

Tom was a member of the Laurens Gun Club and had been a shooting instructor for the 4-H club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He loved anything to do with nature.

Survivors include his longtime friend, Deb Dangelser; daughter, Cindy (James) Bandza of Sioux City; son, Tony Halligan of Palmer; daughter, Micki (Chuck) Sandvig of Rolfe; grandchildren, Jessi, Jacob, Kenny, Elizabeth, Jonas, Thomas, Jordan, Drake, Trey and Tanner; twin brothers, Dennis (Jan) Halligan of Putnam, Ill., and Tim Halligan of West Bend.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Terri and Kelli; and brother, Joseph.
