SHIRLEY M. JONES

Rolfe - Shirley Jones of Rolfe, age 62, died on Monday, February 17, 2003, at Trinity Regional Medical Center at Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Funeral services were held on Friday, February 21, at 11:00 a.m. at Shared Ministry in Rolfe, with Rev. Tamara EnTin officiating.

Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer (Kenneth) Benedict of Rolfe; son, John K. (Amanda) Jones of Rolfe; grandchildren, Jessica, Shelbi, Nicholas, and Drake; and brother, Bob Trueblood, of Longmont, Colorado.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Leslie.

Shirley Mae Trueblood was born on November 7, 1940, at Boone. She was the daughter of William and Della (Wilson) Trueblood. Shirley was educated at Stratford and graduated from Stratford High School in 1958. She worked at the Farmers Savings Bank in Stratford for thirteen years. On April 21, 1970, Shirley married John Paul Jones at the Methodist Church in Stratford. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge, where Shirley was the bookkeeper at the Fort Dodge Police Station. They later moved to Badger and operated the Badger Inn. In the late 1970's, they moved to Rolfe and operated the Sunnybrook Cafe. Shirley continued to work at the Sunnybrook after the sale to her in-laws. She later worked in Emmetsburg and was most recently employed at the Humboldt Library.

Shirley was a member of Shared Ministry. She enjoyed Bingo and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
