MARVEL C. KRISCHEL

Rolfe  -- Marvel C. Krischel, age 88, of Rolfe, died on Thursday, September 26, 2002, at the West Bend Care Center.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Rolfe, with Father Merle Kollasch officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Pocahontas.

Survivors include sons, Marvin (Maxine) Anderson of Cedar Falls, and Merlin (Gwen) Anderson of Fort Dodge; seven grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; and sister LaVon “Tootie” Opheim of Chula Vista, California. Marvel was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, granddaughter, Stacy Rae, six brothers, and two sisters.

Marvel C. Dailey was born on December 4, 1913, at Bradgate. She was the daughter of Frank and Edith (Benge) Dailey. Marvel graduated from Bradgate Consolidated High School In 1931. On November 17, 1934, she married Ray Anderson at Algona. Ray died on January 7, 1937. On July 16, 1941, Marvel married John “Jack” Krischel at West Bend. The couple lived in West Bend and Rolfe before settling in Bradgate in 1944. In 1960, they moved to Havelock. In 1980, they moved back to Bradgate. Jack died on November 3, 1990. Marvel moved to Rolfe in 1993, and she entered the West Bend Care Center in January 2001.

Marvel was a member of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church and the Ladies Society. She enjoyed quilting, playing cards, and having coffee with her many friends.
