JAMES R. SCHOTT

Otho -- James R. Schott, 61, of Otho died Friday, April 9, 2004 at Trinity Regional Medical Center.  Funeral services were held Thursday, April 15, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Laufersweiler Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with the Rev. Edward Girres officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial.  Burial was in Corpus Christi Cemetery.

Surviving is his wife Teresa; a son, The Rev. Daniel Schott and his wife Lee Ann of Polk City; daughters Rebecca Snyder and her husband Dr. Joseph of Dyersville, Teresa Luth and her husband Richard of Fort Dodge; nine grandchildren; a brother David of Fort Dodge; sisters Susan McDaniel of Goldfield and Carol Jahnke of Eagle Grove.  He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Kathleen (George) Schott and his brother Steven.

James R. Schott was born Sept. 16, 1942 in Perry.  As a child, he moved with his family to Rolfe and graduated from Rolfe High School.  He then attended and graduated from Iowa Central Community College.  On Feb. 10, 1962, he was united in marriage to Teresa Good at Sacred Heart Church.  They established their home in Fort Dodge and later moved to Otho.  In 1962, he became employed for Metz Baking Company as a route salesman until his retirement in 1997.

Jim was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 613 and a former member of the Jaycees.  He loved fishing with his grandchildren and his brother Dave."
