RALPH SCOTT

Rolfe - Ralph Scott, age 80, of Rolfe, died Saturday, December 14, 2002, at the V.A. Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dale Harlow officiating. Entombment was in the Mausoleum at North Lawn Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the V. F. W. Post No. 1856.

Ralph is survived by his wife Loretta Scott of Rolfe; five daughters., Sharon, Sara, Ruby, Ruth, and Virginia; three step­sons, James Markley of Rolfe, Mike Markley of Havelock, and Ricky Markley Thompson of Fort Dodge; two step-daughters, Cindy Curtis of Fort Dodge, and Kathy Crouch of Fort Dodge; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Scott of Gowrie, and John Scott of Cedar Falls; and a sister Delores Umbaugh of Glendora, California. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Doris (Cheney) Scott; step­daughter, Mary Englebrecht; two grandchildren; and a sister, Della Derome.

Ralph Scott was born October 26, 1922, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, where he attended school. During World War 11, Ralph served in the United States Army in the Pacific Theater, where he received two Purple Hearts. On July 3, 1967, he married Loretta Lankford in Las Vegas, Nevada. After their marriage the couple lived in Oregon, California, and New Mexico, before moving back to the Fort Dodge area.
