ARTHUR D. TWIGG

Rolfe - Arthur Twigg, age 65, died on January 27, 2004, at Pocahontas, Iowa.

Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 31, at Shared Ministry in Rolfe with Rev. Tamara EnTin officiating. Interment was at Clinton-Garfield Cemetery, Rolfe.

Survivors include his wife Betty Twigg of Rolfe; son Doug (Deb) Metz of Emmetsburg; daughter Dorine (Jerry) Behnkendorf of Algona; grandchildren, Chad, Casey and Mitchell and Ryan, Amber, Andy and Heidi; and sisters, Donna Wheeler of Clarinda, Joan (Max) Hall of Knoxville, and Judith (Philip) Rutter of Blue Gass.

Art was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Carl Wheeler, and nephew Jeffrey Rutter.

Arthur Dee Twigg was born on December 15, 1938, near Plover. He was the son of Cecil and Neva (Shoemaker) Twigg. Art graduated from Plover High School in 1957. He worked for Ibersons Construction for several years and later purchased the blacksmith business in Rolfe from Tib Allbee. On June 12, 1971, Art married Betty Metz at Rolfe. The couple has made their home in Rolfe since then. Art operated Art's Repair Shop until 1994, he worked at E. R. Buske Manufacturing until 2003, and had just begun working at Dutchland Dairy in Rolfe.

Art was a member of the Shared Ministry He served on the Rolfe Fire Department for 35 years and 20 as chief. Art enjoyed fishing, woodworking and metal crafts in his spare time.
