JANE GORDON WEBB

Jane Gordon Webb, 98, St. Louis Park, MN, died Saturday, July 17, 1999.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 24, at the Clinton Garfield Cemetery, Rolfe.

Survivors include her daughters, Sally (Carl) Webb Kish, Roswell, GA; Barbara Smith Webb, Minneapolis, MN; son, Stuart (Martha) Gordon Webb, St. Louis Park, MN; six grandchildren, John, Jeff and James Fish, Georgia; Kim Tevel, Thousand Oaks, CA; Lisa Ahmann, Eden Prairie, MN; Craig Webb, Chippewa Falls, WI; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Gordon and Signe Nelson Gordon.

Jane Gordon Webb, daughter of William Gordon and Signe Nelson Gordon was born February 15, 1901, in Lake Forest, IL. Following graduation from college in Battle Creek, MI, she taught physical education In Dowagiac, MI. On August 19, 1925, she was married to Morris William Webb, Rolfe. Morris was from a pioneer family in the Rolfe area where he owned and operated Webb's Drug Store until his death in 1958. Jane continued living in Rolfe until moving to Edina, MN, in 1984. During her years in Rolfe she was a true community leader, active in the P.E.O. Sisterhood, Sorosis, American Legion Auxiliary and the Rolfe Presbyterian Church. She served as a Girl Scout leader and as a Red Cross chairman during World War II.. She also served for three years as a housemother at Cornell College, in Mt. Vernon. Summers at Lake Okoboji were special times with family and friends. Her family always came first.
