JOSEPH P. WITTROCK

Rolfe, Iowa - Joseph Wittrock, age 42, died on Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Funeral services were held Friday, May 2, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Margaret's Church in Rolfe with Fr. Merle Kollasch officiating. Interment was in St. Margaret's Cemetery, Rolfe.

Survivors include his wife, Sheila Wittrock of Rolfe; sons, Rob Wittrock of Humboldt and Zachary Wittrock of Rolfe; father, William Wittrock of Rolfe; brothers, Michael (Nancy) Wittrock of Algona, Patrick Wittrock of Rolfe, Jeffrey (Becky) Wittrock of Fischers, Indiana, and Matthew (Ann) Wittrock of Humboldt; sisters, Chris O'Donnell of Colfax, Lisa (Gene) Sewell of West Bend, Teresa Wittrock of Humboldt, and Tricia (Chad) Souder of LaPorte City. Joe was preceded in death by his mother.

Joseph Paul Wittrock was born on September 16, 1960, at Emmetsburg. He was the son of William and Shirley (Peterson) Wittrock. Joe was educated at O. L G. C. and graduated from Fonda High School in 1979. He worked with his dad and brothers farming and burying cable. On June 12, 1981, Joe married Sheila Sandvig at Humboldt. The couple made their home in Rolfe. Joe worked at Bjornson Motors and Ken's Standard Service Station in Humboldt. Since 1990, he worked at Humboldt Motor Sales. Joe has been battling cancer for the past nine years.

Joe was a member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars, gardening, woodworking, fishing and had just taken up golf. Joe especially loved spending time with his family.
