BONNIE JEAN WOLFE

Rolfe — Bonnie Jean Wolfe, age 85, died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at the Rolfe Care Center in Rolfe, Iowa,

Funeral services were held at Shared Ministry in Rolfe on Monday, August 2, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. with officiants, Pastor Michael Wolfe and Pastor Charles Miller. Interment was in Clinton-Garfield Cemetery in Rolfe.

Survivors include her son, Gary (Pam) Wolfe of Elk Horn; daughter, Sharalyn (Jim) Hansen of Rolfe: four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren: brother, Charles Sharp of Rolfe:

sisters, Betty (Al) Delfosse of Rolfe and Lea (Jim) Cody of Riceville: and many nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Daniel Lanus; great-grandson, Joseph Rosales; brother, Bill Sharp; and sister, Marge Iseminger.

Bonnie Jean Sharp was born on July 22, 1919, near Plover. She was the daughter of Ward and Hazel (Henderson) Sharp. Bonnie graduated from Plover High School in 1936. On October 19, 1940, Bonnie married Raymond D. Wolfe at West Bend. While Ray was in the service, Bonnie lived In Plover. When Ray returned from the service, the couple settled on the family farm west of Rolfe. In the early 1950’s, they moved into Rolfe. Bonnie worked as a telephone operator for General Telephone Co. in Rolfe and later, she was the secretary for the Rolfe school. She worked as the secretary for G. Fred Smith Insurance Agency. In the early 1970’s, she bought Fred out and became a licensed Insurance agent, operating the agency until her retirement. Ray died on December 16, 1986, and Bonnie entered the Rolfe Care Center In December of 2000.

Bonnie was a member of the Shared Ministry of Rolfe, the circle and the choir. She has served as the secretary for the Presbyterian Church. Bonnie belonged to the V.F.W. and American Legion auxiliaries. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, tending her flower garden and she loved spending time with her family and many friends.
