The Rolfe city council will meet at 1 pm on Saturday, February 4, at the city hall. The council will discuss the fate of the Rolfe school property, including the gym and the rest of the east wing that is still standing. Apparently, about a year ago, the Pocahontas school board offered the school property to the town of Rolfe, but the city council turned down the offer. Various members of the community, who are interested in preserving the building, have asked to speak to the council and hope that the council will change its mind. The school board has entered into a contract to sell all of the school property east of the railroad tracks. A hearing on the contract will be held on February 13.
