Tenants, friends, and family of Deane and Marion Gunderson came on Saturday to help with the cleanup at their farm. The farm buildings were not damaged by the tornado.

Top row: Louise Gunderson Shimon (Perry). Middle row, left to right: Roger Allen (Pocahontas), Gary Beekmann (Pocahontas), Clara Gunderson Hoover (Omaha), Deane Gunderson, Katie Shimon (home run heroine and star pitcher at Drake University), Dave Weiser (Minburn), John Blattner (Perry). Front row, left to right: Donavon Johnson (Rutland), Bill Shimon (Perry), Dan Allen (Rolfe).
A bit of siding on the house was blown away. Also, a tree fell against the west side of the house breaking a couple of windows and causing mild structural damage.
Gary Beekmann of Pocahontas hauls tree limbs from the front yard of the house to the dump pile behind the farm buildings.
The oldest shed on the farm was flattened in the storm. Deane had used it as a shop in his early years of farming. In recent years, it had been as a catch-all.

Dan Allen of Rolfe hauls a tree trunk from the back yard of the house to the dump pile behind the farm buildings..

Metal from grain bins at the Reigelsberger farm is strewn across the Gunderson field. The Gunderson farmstead is in the distance. The camera faces west, southwest.
