joining Chamberlain Mfg. Corp as a mathematician in the research and developement
group. I retired at the end of 1990
as president. My wife Jo Ann and I have been
married 55 years and have two children and four grand children.

Had a wonderful time at the 2005 reunion. I am in my second year of retirement after 35 years in education with my first year in Rolfe. My children are now 31 and 27 with 3 grandkids ages 8,4,3. I am working part-time at 1st Gateway Credit Union as Business Development and Marketing Director. Again, it was GREAT to see so many friends when I was back for the reunion. Rolfe WAS and IS a great place!

I taught vocational agriculure. I am a retired Professor of Animal Science. A few years after leaving Rolfe, I returned to graduate school at the University of Missouri and received an MS and Ph.D. in Animal Husbandry in 1965 and then was Chairman of the Department of Animal and Food Science at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, WI and later moved to North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, NC . My wife (former Marcia Lehnus, DMT (deceased)) and I worked in Africa in Tanzania, Malawi and Botswana from 1978-1988. Our son Jeff is an Associate Professor of Electical Engineering at Purdue University, W. Lafayette, IN and daughter Julie is a Civil Engineer with The Missouri River Flood Forecast Center, Pleasant Hill, MO.
During the summer of 2005, I have been working as a Wildlife Range at Carlsbad Caverns National Park. In November, I am moving to San Antonio TX to do volunteer work for the NPS at the Missions Monuments. If you are going south to TX for the winter, you will find me operating the San Jose Mission grist mill on weekends and blacksmithing during the week. Next year, I will be moving west to the Gila Cliff Dwellings, near Silver City, NM.
From June 17-30, 2006 I will be leading a wildlife tour to the Serengeti in Tanzania. Email me if you are interested in more details.

I left Rolfe and went to work for Iowa State University in Franklin County. Five years later I became an area field specialist working in the area of farm management and economics. One of my current areas of interest is international agriculture with work focusing on Brazil and Germany. My wife Kristie is teaching special education at the Iowa Falls High School. We moved to Iowa Falls in 1993. Our son Mike is in the US Navy. We have two teenage girls; Amanda and Lisa that keep us busy.

Retired in 1993 from Western Il Univ after 24 years, the last ten as Director of Institutional Research and Planning. Anyone who can explain what that job entailed will receive a prize!
Lois and I spend our time now doing volunteer work with such organizations as Habitat for Humanity, tutoring adults in reading, church, etc. Also spend time, when possible, with our three children and six grandchildren.
Have done some traveling too. Just returned from a European trip to Italy, Austria, Germany and France. We are enjoying retirement! We have many fond memories of the good people of Rolfe and would enjoy hearing from some of you.

In 1952 years, after 4 wonderful years in Cedar Falls, I accepted the position as high school band director, instrumental instructor and head of the Cedar Falls public school music dept. Before retiring in 1981 I had served as a member and then director of the Cedar Falls Municipal Band, choir director of the First Presbyterian Church and a memvber of the Waterloo Symphony. My wife Vivan and I have been mararied for 61 years, have four children, eight grandchildren and four great grandchnildren. We are now enjoying life in a retiremnt home here in Cedar Falls.

(Editor's note: Dan Offenburger died on April 8, 2004) After leaving Rolfe, I was a teacher and coach at Des Moines Dowling HS for two years...principal at Grand Community HS in Boxholm for one year...17 years at Creighton University, finishing as athletic director the last five years...five years in business in Omaha...now in my eleventh year in hometown of Shenandoah, Iowa, where I am head of the Shenandoah Chamber and Industry Association. I married Mary Jean Carr from Fonda. We had four daughters. Nancy died at age nine. Jeanie, Marti and Katy are all Creighton University graduates. We have five grandkids and one more on the way. Life has been good. Mary Jean and I have great memories of Rolfe. A conflict in schedule kept us from the 2000 reunion. We hope to get back for the next one.
