Juanita Snook Widstrup

 

Juanita "Jackie" Loraine Snook Widstrup passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 3rd, 2010. She was born on December 24th, 1937, in Rolfe and graduated from the Rolfe schools in 1955. With her husband in the Navy, she lived in Boston, San Diego, and Charleston before settling down in Decatur, Alabama.

Ms. Widstrup worked at Champion (International) Paper Company for 25 years before retiring in 2001. She loved to travel, and she loved her family.

She was a wonderful mother to, and is survived and always loved by her five children: Ronald Paul Widstrup (Decatur); Cheryl Le Hoffmeier (Fort Dodge); Gary Alan Widstrup (Kansas City, Missouri); Sandra Jean (Brad) Blackwood (Decatur); and DeNita Diane (Jason) Denton (Ardmore, Alabama). She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She is also survived by one sister; Ethel (Bob) Costa (Fairhaven, Massachusetts) and three brothers Don (Shirley) Snook (Decatur); Delmer Snook (Lucedale, Mississippi); and Paul (Joyce) Snook (Vidor, Texas).

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Lee Widstrup, her parents Paul and Clinnie (Severns) Snook, sisters; Virginia Marine; Lavon "Peg" Metz; Beverly Williams; and Wanda Snook, brothers; Bill Snook; Glenn Snook; Wayne Snook; and Larry Snook.
