After graduation Gloria worked for Banker's Life, Inc. in Des Moines, and later moved to Ft. Dodge and worked in the business office of the Ft. Dodge Laboratories. In 1958 she married Robert Beekman, where after marriage they farmed southwest of Pocahontas for twenty-five years. Gloria and Robert have four sons, three daughter-in-laws, and six grandchildren. Fifteen years ago Robert and Gloria built a house on Robert's home place where they still live.
Gloria says the most important thing in her life happened at the age of 32
when she accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior. She asks the rest
of us make the personal prayer (Romans, 10: 9-10):
Lord Jesus, I need you in my life. I believe you
are the Son of God and that you died on the cross for me. Please forgive me
for my sins and create a clean, new heart in me. Renew my Spirit so that I
can hear your voice. I accept you as my Savior. You are my Lord. Amen
